Wellness Care
At Falcon Family Vet, we examine your pets once a year and keep their vaccines up-to-date.

Wellness Testing For Pets
To keep your pet happy and healthy, we provide wellness testing and wellness care. The following is a list of the wellness tests we offer.
Intestinal Parasite and Heartworm Testing
Intestinal parasites, which can cause disease in dogs and cats and the people who look after them, are a risk for pets. Roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and tapeworms are the four types of pet parasites that are most frequently seen.
We can identify, treat, and prevent the parasites your pet can encounter through fecal testing for parasites twice a year. Monthly heartworm prevention medicine also aids in parasite prevention.
Heartworm is a dangerous and deadly disease caused by parasitic worms that live in the heart and lungs of animals. It’s transmitted by mosquitoes and can cause severe health complications, including heart failure and lung disease. Symptoms include coughing, fatigue, and difficulty breathing. Prevention is crucial, including regular check-ups with a veterinarian and the use of preventative medication. Left untreated, heartworm disease can lead to death.
Wellness Blood work
- Blood work (including CBC, Chemistry, and Thyroid) is essential for gauging the condition of your pet’s internal organs.
- A CBC (complete blood count) provides information to detect anemia, infection, abnormal blood cells, and blood-borne parasites.
- A Chemistry Screen evaluates the liver, kidneys, and other organs. With a Chem Screen, we review electrolytes, blood proteins, and glucose to monitor for the onset of diabetes.
- A Thyroid Screen assesses the possibility of an underactive or overactive thyroid gland.
